Is the information collected through the Ampersand service secure?
We use physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to help safeguard your information and prevent unauthorized access.
Even so, neither people nor security systems are foolproof. While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Information about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are from the European Economic Area, this section explains how and why we collect and use information from you and how we protect it.
What is GDPR?
GDPR is an EU-wide privacy and data-protection law that regulates how EU residents' data is protected and increases their control over personal data.
Ampersand uses GDPR controls as a baseline standard for operations worldwide, not only for EU-based businesses or residents.
What is personal data?
Personal data is any data relating to an identified or identifiable individual, including information that can identify a person alone or in combination with other information.
The Data Protection Principles include these requirements:
- Personal data must be processed fairly, legally, transparently, and in ways a person would reasonably expect.
- Personal data should only be collected for a specific purpose and used only for that purpose.
- Personal data should not be kept longer than necessary.
- People covered by GDPR have rights to access, copy, update, delete, restrict, or move their data.
Why is GDPR important?
GDPR adds stronger requirements and enforcement around the protection of personal data. Ampersand considers strong privacy practices important beyond legal compliance alone.
Individual data subject rights: data access, portability, and deletion
Ampersand is committed to helping customers meet GDPR rights requirements. Personal data is processed or stored with vetted, DPA-compliant vendors.
We may store conversation and personal data for up to six years unless your account is deleted. If the account is deleted, we dispose of data in line with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and do not keep it longer than 60 days.
We provide self-service access to data and customer data where possible, and our support team can answer questions about working with the API.

California residents may exercise the following rights:
- Right to Know and Access.
- Right to Equal Service.
- Right to Delete.
- Right to request that a business not sell the consumer's personal data.
California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
